We are looking for a contract / contract to perm Full Stack Web Developer to help us produce high quality websites for our clients. You’ll be part of a remote cross-functional team that includes designers, copywriters, data analysts and will be responsible for front end and back end development from conception to deployment and maintenance.
As an agency, we are focused on helping our clients optimise their websites for maximum commercial performance, utilising best in class development, design, research and data analysis.
As a Full Stack Web Developer, you should be confident using both frontend and backend coding languages, development frameworks and third-party libraries. You will also be comfortable working with varying platforms, adapting quickly to suit individual project needs.
Most of our work to date has been based in PHP on the backend, with platforms such as Craft CMS, Shopify and bespoke code. For frontend, you should be comfortable with extracting component mockups from Photoshop, Figma or Sketch, creating coherent and well organised content models from these within CMS packages and the code itself.
Work with our wider design and content team and product managers to ideate software solutions
Design client-side and server-side architecture
Build the front-end of websites based on supplied designs/wireframes
Develop and manage well-functioning databases and websites, with a particular focus on performance such as page loading speed optimisation
Write effective APIs
Test software to ensure responsiveness and efficiency
Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade software
Create security and data protection settings
Build web apps and websites with a mobile responsive design
Write technical documentation and produce accurate effort estimates for prospective projects
Work with data scientists and analysts to improve software
Help to instrument, QA and integrate A/B tests using third party tools
Proven experience as a Full Stack Web Developer or similar role
Experience developing fully responsive desktop and mobile websites and web applications
Familiarity with common stacks and effective development patterns
Knowledge of multiple back-end languages (with a core focus on PHP) and platforms (e.g. Craft CMS, Shopify, Laravel)
Familiarity with databases (e.g. MySQL, MongoDB), web servers (e.g. Apache, Nginx) and UI/UX design
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Great attention to detail
Organisational skills and time management to meet deadlines
An analytical mind
Relevant degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent commercial experience with references
Ability to work remotely effectively
It will be advantageous to have agency experience, as well as any experience with Conversion Rate Optimisation (CRO).
